I have been many things: a business owner, a wife, a widow, a mother, a grandmother…..and sometimes, a dreamer. The dreams grew more vivid, more compelling with the birth of my grandson, Alex. The Dragonfly Keys was written with tears, with laughter and with a certain yen for little arms, the sweetest smile and the sunshine twinkle in a baby boy’s eyes.
As Khalil Gibran eloquently phrased it: Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself. I think that extends to grandchildren as well. Perhaps even more so.
Amidst the normal day to day travails, the boulder heavy burdens, the rainy days and the anxious nights – there is light. My light is Alex. He is my hope, my very own precious Dragonfly treasure.
This book is my way of sharing him with the world.
